Yes!! Finally!!

5 out of 5 stars

Yes!! Finally!!
I finally found what I needed! I cannot believe it! I was so hesitant because of the price but man it’s worth it!! My biggest problem sleeping on the plane is that I tend to tilt my neck BACK, so donut pillows do not help me. I’ve tried so many pillows and nothing worked. I also don’t know where to put my hands. This cocoon is perfect! Kept me warm and kept my hands in place. The head was fixed in the position and the headrest also acted a bit of a noise reduction. I HIGHLY recommend to give this a try! The only problem is that it becomes challenging if you want to sleep on the side because the mask can only be positioned facing forward, but it did not bother me too much. Best sleep I’ve gotten on a plane and walked away to my destination without neck pain for the first time in my life.

I tested it in my car first so I’d know how to set it up in the plane and it hasn’t disappointed me. It’s the best car nap I’ve ever had and the most success I’ve had on an 11 hour flight trying to flip my sleep schedule to a +21-hours-from-home area. It keeps me upright, stops my head knocking against the wall, does a great job blocking light to the point that I stopped putting my manta in my backpack. The design is also good at reducing noise, so between it and a pair of earplugs the rest of the plane can be out of sight and mind for as long as I feel like. I also love the blanket. I thought it might be something I replace with my usual sweatshirt, but it helps take the weight off my low back and reduces how hard you lean into the head strap when there’s turbulence. As a twitchy/ wiggly sleeper, it also helps me have a good sleep without disturbing my neighbor.
Now I just gotta figure out shoes/legs accommodations to complete my transportation mummy sack!
Of note, and this isn’t a complaint about the sling, if the airplane headrest is adjustable then using the mask and or sling does yank the headrest down. I haven’t found a good solution to that yet.

    I love my AirSlyng!

I messed around with neck pillows and they only made me hot and sweaty but didn't really make flying more comfortable. Trying to lean back into them and stay centered never seemed to work and every flight I'd have to try and figure out what to do with my arms. The AirSlyng take a totally different approach where you lean forward and it supports your head and your arms. Lots more stable and comfortable.

The eye mask is padded and fits great. The whole thing folds up on itself and you can clip it to your bag so it doesn't take up a bunch of space in your carry-on. I don't know if anything would make long flights "fun" but as a guy who travels a lot, this makes them a whole lot better.

Total game changer when flying long hauls! I can never sleep when sitting in economy. I’m always shifting just to get a comfy position and if I do end up being able to fall asleep.. it’s only for an hour if I’m lucky and end up having stiff neck and shoulder pain , a headache or some limb getting numb. I recently bought this for our summer Europe trip – HNL-JFK , the JFK to ZRH, then FCO-BOS, BOS-HNL . All in economy.

The material is great, good quality. Zips up nicely. I like its compact design. The straps seemed a little overwhelming at first but it serves its function. It worked perfect for Hawaiian Air’s headrest for their 787 Dreamliner and A330. Not so well for ITA’s A330. I could not get the strap to slip through the back of the headrest..it was a bit too snug to secure the part for the arm sling. In the end I just ended up putting it around my shoulders rather than the headrest. This method wouldn’t be ideal for someone with a small frame. The padded eye cover velcro’s nicely against the head portion preventing one from being a bobble head. the arm sling acts as a “swaddle”. Now I realized how babies sleep comfortably when they’re swaddled! My arms did not get numb even when in the sling. Great investment for a traveller who needs to get some rest before arriving at their destination . Setting up 3 pieces sounds a lot especially when dealing in a tight spot and carry ons etc etc but getting a good rest out of it is worth it. Clips well to any bag with a strap so you don’t lost it , the zipper holds everything in place..you don’t need to worry about it opening up while on the move. Only downfall of having it secured behind headrests.. not all plane’s headrest can be friendly for it as with my situation on ITA but I’ll definately be using this for now on , esp on flights for more than 5hrs!

This thing is awesome. I was skeptical but I've tried everything else (including the Internet famous neck support) and nothing worked so figured this was worth a go. I have used it on two red eyes on two different airlines and it worked like a charm both times. I slept as well as possible on a red eye with no neck pain the next day.

Some reviewers have complained about the arm cocoon but I think they are just using it wrong. You need to put the elastic strap around the top of your shoulders. That way there is no strain on your neck and the opening for your arms is at maximum width.

Unique travel item. Purchased this in anticipation of several red-eye flights. The concept is great, and the idea of a sling to help protect and "cuddle" your arms during sleep was a selling point. Pros: Good materials used for construction. Nice zippered case acts as a head rest and has sensible straps for adjustmente. The large eye mask was well cushioned for comfort. Cons: Sling for arms has a heavy elastic strap at the neckline that does NOT adjust for seat headrest width or to lower the sling for larger persons or persons who want their arms to rest closer to their lap. I am a woman who is 5'4" and the sling had my arms up above my chest. I will be adapting the sling by replacing the neck elastic with an adjustable strap to allow the sling to be positioned lower across my body.

I just used this on a 6 hour overnight flight and I was able to sleep! I set it up when I got on the plane, but actually put the mask and sling on after eating. Excellent items and I am so glad I bought these! I will be bringing them on all future longish flights!!! Very comfortable. One small critique is the eye mask needs to be snug to support the head and it left marks on my face.
